Living Hope Community Church has been around for a number of years. It began in 1997 with small groups meeting in houses. It is a very special place in which to meet with God. The heartbeat of Living Hope is Jesus Christ and dependence, abiding in Him.

Christ truly is the passion of Living Hope. We are excited to discover what it means for Christ to live in and through the church. We have met in various locations including a movie theatre and store fronts and are currently partnering with Halifax Christian Academy.

Through incredible circumstances God has brought Living Hope into deep dependence on Him. We authentically and experientially know that apart from Him we can do nothing.

We believe that God is seeking to bring together a family of God that depends on Him and that He can truly live/work through; that can be a lifesaver for those who have been beaten up by religion and churchianity.

Every ministry that you see that`s a part of Living Hope has been initiated by the Lord. We are learning how to wait on Him and to trust Him to make things clear.

We are a part of the Canadian National Baptist Convention, a diverse denomination which encourages the autonomy of the local church, missions and evangelism. We work together in co-operation realizing that we are stronger and can accomplish more together as one!

Jesus said, "Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." John 17: 21 - 23

This is the prayer of our church family - that we will be one in Christ, take care of one another as Christ would, so the world will look at us and say, ``Hey, look at the way they care for one another, I want that for my life!`` And the world will see the reality of Christ in us, then come to know Christ in a personal way while experiencing His forgiveness and salvation.

We believe that is the church for today and it can only happen though knowing and experiencing what it means for the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, to live in and through us. As we come to the end of our self-effort and rest/depend on Him, His life, the only life,...really happens.
